Using the site
ActiveVitPH is provided free of charge for personal use. There is no account to create, nothing to buy, and no registration, so nothing here needs to be agreed to in advance — using the site is the whole of it.
You may play the puzzles, read the guides, link to any page, and share those links freely. What we ask you not to do:
- Republish the puzzle code or the guide text as your own work, in whole or in substantial part.
- Present the site or its content as belonging to someone else, or remove attribution from copies.
- Attempt to disrupt the site for other people, or use automated tools to hammer the host.
No wagering, no prizes, no money
This is worth stating plainly rather than burying. No puzzle on this site takes a wager, pays a prize, or involves real money in any form. There is no in-site currency, no purchase of any kind, no advertising, and no completion time, score or streak that can be exchanged for anything.
Nothing here is a game of chance played for value, and nothing on the site should be understood as a gambling product or as an offer to participate in one.
If somebody contacts you about winnings
We will never email you about a prize, a balance, a bonus or a payment, because none of those exist and we do not have your address. Any message that claims otherwise is not from us.
Difficulty labels and times are estimates
Every difficulty rating and completion time shown anywhere on this site — on the home page, on a puzzle page or in a guide — is an estimate, produced from puzzles we solved ourselves. They are labelled as estimates wherever they appear.
They are not verified records, they are not averages across players, and they are not benchmarks of anything. A puzzle we call medium may be easy for you, and a time we suggest may be far off what you achieve in either direction.
Your own best results, shown on the boards, are simply what you did in this browser. Nothing verifies them and they can be removed by clearing your browser data.
What we cannot promise
The site is provided as it is. We build it carefully, we check the generators, and we machine-verify the hand-built levels — but we cannot promise that it is free of faults, that it will always be available, or that it will behave identically in every browser.
Specifically, we do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted, that any particular puzzle or feature will continue to exist, or that results stored in your browser will survive a browser update, a change of device, or your own clearing of site data. There is no backup, because nothing is stored on our side to back up.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of the site. Given that the site is free, holds no data about you and handles no money, the realistic worst case is a lost best time, which we would encourage you not to be too attached to.
Content and ownership
The code, the written guides, the artwork and the design of this site are ours, and copyright remains with us. The puzzles themselves are classics that long predate this site and belong to nobody — Sudoku, Minesweeper, nonograms, Sokoban and the rest are freely reimplementable, and this is our implementation of them rather than a claim on the games.
Quoting a short passage from a guide with a link back is fine and welcome. Reproducing a whole guide is not.
Changes, and getting in touch
Puzzles may be added, altered or removed, and these terms may be updated. When they are, the date at the top of this page changes. Continuing to use the site after that is how any updated terms take effect, since there is no account through which to notify you.
If anything here is unclear, write to [email protected] and we will explain it in plainer words.
